    How the cemetery grew

The Old Part is the original 1½-acre tract donated by James N. Downing in 1838 — every section letter A through W marks a row in the oldest ground.

The McCoy Addition came in 1899, when G. J. McCoy gave a half-acre on the north side. The Downing I Addition followed in 1919, and Downing II sits on land donated by Downing heirs in 1935.

The New Part Addition stretches along O Highway, framed by a 15-foot driveway given by the Garrouttes in 1941 and the Stewarts in 1953.

The Pearl Downing Addition is now the largest active section. The RC & Pat Downing Addition on the east side, given in 2009, is reserved for cremated remains only.
